Things to do

Amador City is located between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. We have everything from wine tasting to skiing. Take a look below to see some of our favorite local activities.

  • Walk Amador City - our back roads are endless and neighborhoods are quaint. Take off on foot on Water Street and walk the 3 mile loop of Turner Road and String Bean Alley to see old and currently working mines

  • Shop our Downtown

  • Walk through our historical Cemetery and get a bit of history (walk up Church Street off Main Street)

  • Grab a croissant at Andrae’s Bakery - best in the West!

  • Wine Taste in Shenandoah Valley

  • Float, swim and fish the Mokelumne River

  • See the Daffodils at Daffodil Hill (March/April weather permitting).

  • Drive through the quaking aspens in Hope Valley during the Fall for colorful and spectacular views

  • Go see the historical town on Volcano and watch a play on their outdoor stage
